How to Get and Use Wind Charge in Minecraft

Fighting in Minecraft can often get overwhelming when you are dealing with multiple opponents. But, what if you could fly away whenever that happens? Or even better, send your enemies flying away at will? Thanks to the Wind Charge in Minecraft, all of this is now possible. Let’s explore how!

Breeze Wind Charge in Minecraft (2024)

Note: Much like the Breeze, Wind Charge is an experimental feature of the Minecraft 1.21 update. Its design, mechanics, and strength are subject to change with the final release.

What is Wind Charge in Minecraft

The Wind Charge is a powerful movement-based weapon in Minecraft. It allows you to shoot a massive charge of wind at your opponent. If it hits the target, the attack doesn't only hurt your enemy but even sends them flying away.

Not to forget, the hostile Breeze also has an attack with the same name and action. Make sure not to confuse yourself as we're only talking about Wind Charge, the item. With that said, let's discuss its spawning!

Where Does Wind Charge Spawn

Unfortunately, the Wind Charge doesn't spawn naturally within any structure in Minecraft. Moreover, it doesn't even have a crafting recipe or a trade mechanism. Your only option is to collect Wind Charge directly from the mob that uses it. Keep reading to find out how.

How to Get Wind Charge in Minecraft

To get a Wind Charge in Minecraft, you need to kill Breezes and get their mob loot. But this playful mob only spawns in the buried Trial chamber structure. So, the stakes are high and the quest is long -- make sure to grab an Elytra in Minecraft to help you out.

Find Trial Chamber

Trial chambers are one of the many underground structures that spawn within the overworld dimension of Minecraft. Here are a few tips to easily find it:

  • Blocks: You can often find tuff, deepslate, and diorite blocks near Trial Chamber walls. So, it's best to watch for these blocks while exploring.
  • Height: More often than not, the topmost room of the chamber spawns between Y= -40 and -20. You can check these heights to improve your chances.
  • Biomes: While these structures can generate in almost every biome, they rarely generate next to dripstone or lush caves.
  • Seeds: You can use the best Minecraft Trial Chamber seeds if nothing goes as planned. They spawn you right on top of these rare and sometimes, even glitched structures.

Spawn and Hunt Breeze

Once you find a Trial Chamber in Minecraft, it's time to get Wind Charge by killing the Breeze. Here's how:

1. First, use a pickaxe in Minecraft to enter the chamber. It's best to go for iron or diamond pickaxes.

2. Next, explore the structure and look for the larger rooms. The Breeze only spawns inside the massive hall-like areas.

3. Then, make sure the room you find has a Trial Spawner surrounded by Tuff blocks. When you go near it, a Breeze will spawn.

4. Finally, use your sword and our guide on how to defeat the Breeze in Minecraft. Once the Breeze dies, it leaves behind 4-6 Wind Charges in Minecraft.

How to Use Wind Charge Item

Now that you know how to get wind charge in Minecraft, let's explore its usage:

1. First, hold the Wind Charge in your hand to equip it. Holding it is quite similar to holding a Fire Charge in Minecraft.

2. Then, aim toward the mob or player that you want to hit with your wind charge.

3. Finally, right-click or use the secondary action key to use the wind charge in Minecraft. As soon as you do so, a strong gush of the wind will appear sending your target flying away.

4. Alternatively, you can also use the Wind Charge while looking at your feet. Doing so will give you a strong jump boost that is perfect for climbing high places. Just make sure you know how to avoid fall damage in Minecraft.

Attack Enemies

When the Wind Attack directly hits your target, they receive damage, and a large gush of wind appears with strong knockback. This attack is perfect to not only deal damage but to also maintain a long gap between you and your enemies. Moreover, this attack deals 10% more knockback than charges fired by Breeze.

Knockback Mobs

Unlike regular knockback, the Wind Charge makes targets take damage by throwing them from a high place. It can be highly dangerous within the best Minecraft Bedwars servers. But, other than that, the knockback part of this attack cannot deal direct damage.

Fly High

Want to climb a tall mountain or quickly reach the roof of a structure? Wind Charge in Minecraft is all you need. You can use this attack on your feet while avoiding any damage to get a big jump boost. If combined with a Potion of Slow Falling, this attack can ultimately make you fly.

While dealing damage to mobs, the Wind Charge can also interact with and activate certain Redstone components. These include:
