Minecraft Amplified: How to Unlock, Purpose and Best Seeds

Massive mountains, deep caves, and impossible-to-navigate terrain. All of these features are the norm in Minecraft Amplified worlds. They take your regular biomes and push them to their extreme limits. Let’s discover how to create a Minecraft Amplified world and also how to survive in it.

What Does Amplified World Do in Minecraft

Amplified worlds in Minecraft are known for generating massive mountains and deep caverns across all overworld biomes. Even the smallest hills in an amplified world can tower over the tallest peaks found in regular Minecraft. Moreover, the caves in these worlds often extend all the way down to the Bedrock layer.

As you might expect, this unique terrain dramatically impacts all in-game structures. You can witness floating villages, extremely tall mansions, and a lot of other surreal scenes. But, these changes only affect the overworld dimensions and do not extend to the Nether or the End.

Minimum Requirements

When it comes to official requirements, Minecraft only suggests that you need a "beefy" computer to run amplified worlds. As per our testing, this translates to the following system requirements:

  • CPU: Intel/AMD Quad-core CPU (from last 5 years)
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 / RTX 2070 or AMD RX 5700
  • RAM: 8GB (or more)

With these hardware specifications, you can run any amplified world smoothly and without any compromises. But, if you have a weaker system, it's time for some tweaking. You just need to lower the render and simulation distance to below 10 chunks before launching the world. If your game lags, you can then also install the best Minecraft shaders for low-end PCs.

When are Amplified Worlds Coming to Minecraft Bedrock

As of now, there's no confirmation of amplified worlds coming to Minecraft Bedrock Edition in the near future. They require resources that may not be feasible on many common platforms, including Chromebooks, consoles, and smartphones.

But, all hope isn't lost yet. With Minecraft 1.20 update bringing spectator mode to Bedrock, the game seems to be expanding its feature. So, even though there is very little hope for the same, amplified worlds can be a part of the Minecraft 1.21 update.

Are Amplified Worlds Better Than Default

Whether you prefer a regular or amplified Minecraft world depends on your specific preferences and goals. To help you decide, let's explore the key differences between the two:

  • Terrain: The Minecraft amplified worlds have extreme terrain features with taller mountains and deeper caves.
  • Biome: While both types of worlds support all biomes of Minecraft, it's easier to find unique glitched spots in the amplified worlds.
  • Resources: Thanks to the extreme world generation, you will have easier access to Minecraft ores in amplified worlds. Most ores in these worlds spawn in exposed locations.
  • Difficulty: Unless you are an expert at Minecraft parkour maps, the terrain of the amplified world will be quite challenging. You are always just one misstep away from a fatal fall.

How to Make an Amplified World in Minecraft

Follow these simple steps to create an amplified world in Minecraft on Windows, Mac, and Linux:

1. First, launch your game from the Minecraft Launcher by hitting the "Play" button in the Java section.

2. When the game launches, click on the "Single Player" button.

3. Then, click on the "Create New World" button at the bottom of the screen.

4. Next, within the world creation screen, click on the "World" section on the top panel. Then, keep clicking on the "World Type" button until you reach "Amplified".

5. Finally, use one of the best Minecraft amplified seeds from our list below and click on the "Create" button. While it might take longer than usual for the world to open, you will be within an amplified world within seconds.

Tips to Survive in Amplified Worlds

Thanks to their unique terrain, the amplified worlds of Minecraft can be quite dangerous. So, here are a few tips to help you survive:

  • Water Bucket: The amplified worlds consist of extremely steep falls. To avoid falling to your death, it's best to make a bucket in Minecraft and use it to unload water to soften your landing.
  • Slow Falling: Another item that can help you avoid fall damage is the Potion of Slow Falling. It only requires a Phantom Membrane to brew which is quite easy to get.
  • Pickaxe: Whether you want to climb down a mountain or go across it, your pickaxe needs to be sturdy. Unless you can use diamonds to make a pickaxe in Minecraft, it's best to go for some easy pickaxe enchantments.
  • Structures: The structures in amplified worlds can sometimes spawn in glitched or hard-to-reach locations. But you can use an Elytra in Minecraft or increase your field of view (FOV) to increase your chances of seeing them.

Best Minecraft Amplified Seeds

Now that you know how to make and survive an amplified world in Minecraft, let's unlock some of their coolest features. For that, we have three of the best Minecraft seeds to generate amplified worlds.

1. Sea Facing Village

It can be extremely hard to come across any structures, let alone villages in Minecraft amplified worlds. But, this seed takes care of that by spawning right next to a majestic plains village. The only catch is that you have to climb an entire mountain to reach that village.

Fortunately, there are enough trees, stones, and even iron ore blocks to make the climb easier. Once you are done with the village, you can make a boat in Minecraft and explore the vast sea to find other structures. Believe it or not, coming across the ocean can also be a challenge in these worlds.

  • Seed: 8344334708991660229
  • Village Coordinates: -255, 144, -392

2. Deserted Amplified Worlds

When players think of amplified terrain in Minecraft their mind often wonders about mountainous biomes. But, the seeds are here to break the norm by applying amplification on a massive desert. The scenery in front of you is extremely unique and breathtaking.

As for the resources, there is a zombie village, a ruined portal, and a wooded badlands biome near your spawn. Reaching any of these locations would be a task but it's better than being deserted in no man's land.

  • Seed: 6155798584787660183
  • Zombie Village Coordinates: 163, 129, -205
  • Ruined Portal Coordinates: 168, 143, 227

3. Amplified Survival Island

With limited resources and unlimited possibilities, the survival islands in Minecraft are one of the best ways to the game. But, with this seed and amplified worlds you can take these islands to a whole new level.

You spawn on a lonesome island featuring a truly massive mountain surrounded by a dense forest. The spot has all the food and trees you need for survival but no ores to help you progress.
